Kanye West- New Slaves
Kanye West displays creativity at it’s finest in his new music video New Slaves. The G.O.O.D Music founder had the world go on a scavenger hunt in order to find the location of his hologram concert.
Yeezy performed his new single New Slaves on 66 buildings around the globe and will continue his performance until Sunday, May 19.
What makes this track so special for Ye to do this? The Mercy rapper used conscious lyrics that brought attention to modern day racism that affects celebrities and an ordinary person. Check em out.
[Verse 1]
My mama was raised in an era when/Clean water was only served to the fairer skin
Doing clothes you would have thought I had help/But they wouldn’t be satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself
You see its broke nigga racism/That’s that “don’t touch anything in the store”
And there’s rich nigga racism/That’s that “come in and buy more”
What you want a Bentley, fur coat and diamond chain?/All you blacks want all the same things
Used to only be niggas /Now everybody play me
Spending everything on that Alexander Wang/New Slaves
